About Us

Loddon Vale Indoor Bowling Club is situated in the Basingstoke Leisure Centre and aims to provide a friendly environment for those of all ages to experience the sport of bowls throughout the year.

The club runs competitions, leagues and friendly matches where bowlers from beginner to expert can enjoy a game that is accessible to them all.

Whilst catering for our experienced bowlers with entries in County and National competitions, we also provide special sessions where new bowlers can practice and learn from a number of of our more experienced members. Our Junior Team Manager also provides sessions where our younger bowlers can improve their skills together. Our coaches are available to help all of our members.

The club is open throughout the year with bowling sessions commencing at 10.00 a.m. and continuing into the evening. A members' bar is provided and food and drinks are available from our restaurant.

The club runs social events for members providing additional opportunities for members to meet off the bowling green.

Club history

The club was opened in 1991and underwent a major refurbishment of its 8 rink green in 2006.

The club is conveniently situated in the Basingstioke

Leisure Centre where adequate free parking is provided next to the club entrance.

The club was built on land leased from Basingstoke and Deane Bourough Council and is owned by its 550+ members.

Achievements

The club has had considerable success in the world of indoor bowls having hosted the Womens National Finals in 2007 and the first Joint Womens' and Mens National Finals in 2008.

Our ladies triples team won the national title in 2007. One of our junior lady bowlers won the World Junior Singles title in 2006 and is a current member of the England Under 25 National team.

In 2009 Loddon Vale men won four of the five Hampshire county titles and in 2010 retained the pairs and fours titles.
