| Yesterday our ladies played Moonfleet 2000 in Round 3 of the Yetton Plate. Despite winning on two of the four rinks they went down by just 7 shots overall. This is the furthest we have gone in this competition and bodes well for the future. Well done ladies.

12 December 2011 | Our juniors attended the EBYDS Hampshire County Skills test day at Banister Park on Sunday 11th December and came away with bundle of trophies. Tere are too many to mention but all proved to be worthy representatives of Loddon Vale. Alan Smith and his team of junior coaches can be justly proud of their achievement. It is hoped that the next Hampshire County competition will be held at Loddon Vale in January 2013. |

2 December 2011 | Well done ladies! After a solid win against Chawrton Park our ladies have progressed to the 3rd round of the Yetton Plate. They will meet either Riverside or Five Rivers on Thirsday 15tyh December. Come along and support them. All rinks contributed to the win with particularly strong performances by Kay Kerley's and Sheila Stone's rinks. |
23 November 2011 | Not so good news this week in the inter-club competitions. Our men bowed out of the Denny Plate going down to a banister Park team that managed to hold on the stronger after an even first half. The ladies had a tough time in the firast of their Riversmeet fixtures on 19th November winning on two of the four rinks but going down overall, 67 - 89 to gain just 4 of the 12 points available. Next round for the Riversmeet is on 10th December at the same time as the men's Bramley Bowl fixture. Come along and support your teams at 10.00 a.m. |
15 November 2011 | Success for our teams in the competitions held last weekend. Our men successfully saw off Five Rivers in the Denny Plate on Saturday 12th November to proceed to the next round and our mixed team came out on top against Chawton Park in the Egham Trophy by a single shot on the extra end. They now meet Bournemouth in the next round. Our men had an unexpected win against West Berks in the Wessex League on Sunday 13th November to record a 75 - 72 aggregate and 12 points to 4 win. With Westlecott losing 3 -13 Loddon Vale is well up the table having played two of the fancied teams. Keep up the good work! |
10 November 2011 | We just about completed the design of a new markers training course that reflects the format and content for the national markers course expected to be published in 2012. Details of this course will be available on the notice board soon so please look out for it. It will enhance and replace the course that was attended by some of our members some 2 - 3 years ago. These markers should benefit from this course as well as any other members that wish to brush up their marking skills. |
10 November 2011 | Our men did not fare well against Bournemouth in the Denny Cup and now face Five Rivers (who had a bye in Round 1 of the Denny Cup and lost to Bournemouth in the second round) on Saturday 12th November at 10.00 a.m. Lets hope they can do better this time. |

31 October 2011 | Our second Wessex League game did not go so well when we came up against one of the stronger teams in the division, Westlecott. We managed to scramle a draw in one game to give us a points score of 1-15 and an aggregate of 69 - 98. Another tough game against West Berks coming up on 13th November. Try to get along to give our team some support. |
30 October 2011 | Our Bramley Bowl team continued on their winning ways with a bit of a scare towards the end when Palmerston come back to only lose the aggregate by 6 shots over the 4 rinks - 88 -82 to Lodddon Vale. Winning on two rinks each the poinrs score was 6 - 2 to Loddon Vale bringing our total to 12 points from the first 2 matches played. |
30 October 2011 | Well done our juniors double rink. They played Donyngs inj the 1srt Round of the National David Cornwall U25's Double Rink and narrowly lost by 2 shots at home and 5 shots away. This is a great improvement on our performance in earlier years and a great credit to our junior squad and their manager. |
24 October 2011 | Loddon Vale played East Dorset in the 1st Round of the Egham Trophy on Sunday 23rd October and came out on top by 4 shots in a tight contest. Well done our team. They now play Chawton Park in the 2nd Round on Sunday 6th November. Come down to the club and suport your team. |
17 October 2010 | Another good start with a 12 points to 4 win against Oxford City & County. Again we won on two rinks and were very close in a third. |
16 October 2011 | Our team fared well in their first Bramley Bowl fixture of the season against newly promoted Fiver Rivers winning on two rinks and gaining the aggregate points in a 79 - 66 win and 6 points to 2 against. Keep up the good work. |

20 September 2011 | Just a reminder that the EGM to approve the 2010-11 accounts will be held at 7.00 p.m. on Sunday 9th October. A copy of the abbreviated accounts has been displayed on the notice board and can also be accessed by clicking here. Before this, at 6.30 p.m., a photographer will be at the club to take the photographs of the winning teams from the 2010-12 winter season and the 2011 summer season. The league shields will be presented to the winning team representatives after the short EGM. This will be followed by cheese and wine for the winners of the successful league teams. Please come along to support this event. |

30 August 2011 | On Sunday 28th August, Nicole Rogers represented the South in the EBYDS National Finals at Beach House Park in Worthing. This was one of the last events held alongside the Finals of the Bowls England Men's Natioinal Finals.Nicole bowled very well sometimes under heavy rain. This was her first taste of bowling outdoors alogside the best Under 15's in the country. Her performance was excellent and a credit to herself and Loddon Vale. Well done Nicole - we are all proud of you. |
28 August 2011 | Congratulations to John Holmes' team that reached the playoff stage of the new Fantastic 5's EIBA National competition. The team, represented by John Holmes, Tina and Duncan Rogers, Pat Wort and Glen Roberts, played Croydon at Wey Valley on Friday 26th August. The teams won two games each to tie on points. Loddon Vale were one shot up on shot aggregate and lying one when the Croydon skip in the pairs played a superb shot to touch the jack and score one to tie the shot aggregate. Unfortunately Croydon had one two more ends than Loddon Vale over the 40 ends played in the match so take the place in the finals at Egham on 19th September. Anyway, well done to all of our teams who participated in this inaugural summer event. We look forward to playing and going further next year. |
15 May 2011 | The refurbishment of the toilets has started. The ladies toilets are presently being upgraded so ladies are asked to use the disabled toilet. The newly refurbished ladies toilets should be available some time next week. Then it will be the men's turn. |

18 April 2011 | WOW!! - Thank you all for supporting our AGM last night - nearly 100 members attended - We think that this may be a record. The Board is encouraged that a wide range of members took an interest in their club and showed their support. Two new Board members, Chris Newin and Robin Voller were elected. It is good to have new talent on the board - we will update you on the new board's operations soon. The Bowls Committee were mainly re-elected - however we are pleased to welcome Sandra Ruffell as Membership Secretary and Steve Sallows as Men's Captain, taking over from Norman Figg and John Holmes who were standing down for a well earned rest. Also we thank Glen Roberts who was elected to the vacant post of Competition Secretary. 
The AGM was followed by the presentation of cups and prizes to the winners and runners up of the club competitions, the biggest cheer going to Ashley Nethercliffiffe who became our youngest winner of the Novice singles.  At the conclusion of the evening the presidential office was handed over to Stuart Logan by Pauline Oxlade - a hard act to follow! Details of the new Board and Bowls Committee members and the competition winners will be updated on the website and the honours boards in thye near future. |
15 April 2011 | Annual General Meeting is on Sunday evening 17th April at 7.00 p.m. Please come along, listen to the reports on how your club is doing, and vote for those that you want to manage and run your club over the next year. The club competition winners will be presented with their trophies and priz3es after the AGM. |
5 April 2011 | The HIBA county competition finals were held at Riverside IBC in Winchester on Sunday. Our fours team of Duncan Rogers, Terry Heath, Dave Rice and Terry Morgan successfully defended their title coming back well from a slow start - champions again. In the afternoon our triples team of Terry, Heath, geraint Jones and Trevor Morgan, again came back from a slow start but this time just fell short. Our defending pairs champions, Duncan Rogers and John Merchant, were unable to mastwer a tricky end rink and went down to a strong pair from Victory.

13 March 2011 | Thanks to all members who turned up to see the great Liberty Trophy match between Kent and Somerset yesterday. It was great to see such enthusiasm and support for both teams from their supporters and from our members. 
Somerset won a tight match by 122 - 112 with Kent making it exciting with a late rally. Somerset now play Norfolk, who beat Northampton by 6 shots in the other semi-final, in the final to be played at Nottingham. Thanks especially to Rob, Tracy and their team, who worked hard all day to keep the foood and drinks flowing. |
1 March 2011 | The Isle of Wight Tour in May has been cancelled so we wil not be having our friendly against them on 5th May. - The Fixtures Calendar has been amended. |
1 March 2011 | Our Wessex league team won their last game aginst Oxford City & County to add 15 points to their total to finish with 37 points and 6th place in the Eastern Region - one place up from last year. |
6 February 2011 | It has been confirmed that Loddon Vale will host the semi-final of the the Liberty Trophy between Kent and Somerset on Satuday 12th March 2011. This is a direct result of the club members' support in making the quarter final played on 15th January such a success. The presidents of the EIBA and Hampshire IBA have confirmed that they will attend this important match. Due to our hosting this fixed date match we will be rescheduling the club drawn fours tournament scheduled for this date. We will publish details both here and on the Fixtures Calendar as soon as the date is agreed. |
1 February 2011 | MORE GREAT NEWS!! - Claire and Georginina were triumphant in their inter-zone final of the National Ladies Pairs. They now travel to Melton Mowbray for the last 16 finals playoffs on 2nd and 3rd March. Lets give them all of our support. They are doing the club proud. |
31 January 2011 | After our successful hosting of the Liberty Trophy quarter final betwen Kent and Dorset on 15th January, we have been asked to host the semi-final between Kent and Somerset on Saturday 12th March commencing at 10.15 a.m. This request has been made by both Kent and Somerset as a result of our club's much appreciated hosting performance in January. The Officers and Board members would like to thank all of our members and Rob's stewarding and catering team who helped to deliver this result. Come along and see some fantastic bowls on the day. 31 January 2011 | Our teams continue to play well in their county league competitions. On Saturday 29th January the ladies Riversmeet team had a resounding victory over Atherley winning 91 - 64 and collecting 10 points from a possible 12. The men continued their winning ways with a solid 82 - 75 win oveer Riverside adding 7 points out of 8 to their league leading running total for the season. Keep it up! |
24 January 2010 | After our ladies followed up their Riversmeet win over Chawton Park with another stunning victory over Bannister Park on Saturday 22nd January, our men's Wessex league team clocked up their first victory on Sunday 23rd January with a 101 - 78 win against Chipping Norton to gain a well earned 15 points out of a possible 16. Well done to both teams. |
24 January 2010 | Claire Spreadbury and Georgina Heath are playing their Ladies National pairs inter area final at Dolphin IBC at 1.30 p.m. on Sunday 30th January. When they win this game they will move on to the last 16 in the finals tournament. Why not get some groups together to share the travelliong ang go to Poole to support our fabulous pair. |
9 January 2010 | Loddon Vale Bramley Bowl and Riversmeet teams put in a great performance in their matches on 8 January. The men beat Chawton Park on all four rinks to win 90 - 56 and collect all 8 points. The ladies had a tougher game against Five Rivers to win 3 out of 4 rinks and win overall by 87 - 76 collecting 10 of the 12 points available. Well done to all. |
9 January 2010 | Congratulations to Georgina Heath and Claire Spreadbury, who yesterday evening at Loddon Vale played magnificent bowls to defeat the strong Bournemouth pairing of Julie Hudson and Val Mansell by 21 - 12 to win the Area Final of the National Indoor Pairs. They now go on to play the Inter Area final on a neutral green after which, if successful they will compete at the National Finals. A large number of supporters from the girls indoor and outdoor clubs turned up to watch what was a high quality game |

22 December 2010 | We have been asked by Kent County IBA to host their Liberty Trophy match against Dorset on 15th January 2011. This will enable club members to see six rinks games played at the highest national atandard. Also the club will benefir from the income.The match starts at 10.30 a.m. As a result of this the Riversmeet Ladies league game scheduled for that time will be rescheduled. The friendly fixture in the afternoon will still be played. The Fixtures Calendar has been amended to show these changes |

16 December 2010 | Our ladies played Bournemouth in the second round of the Yetton Trophy on Thursday 18 December. Karen Winter's rink won away at Bournemouth but we were unable to match a strong Bouyrnemouth team on the other rinks. We look forward to you trying again next year ladies. |
15 December 2010 | Eight of our juniors were invited to the Hampshire School of Excellence held at Bannister Park on Sunday 12th December. The seniors group included Adam Gough, Glen Woodfine and Stephan Palaczky. Adam and Glen both reached the semi-finals with Adam losing the final by a single shot. Juniors were Ashley Nethercliffe, Nicole Rogers, Luke Oxlade, Daniel Holland and Kieren Moxon. Ashleigh, Nicole and Keiren all reached the semi-finals with Ashleigh and Kieren playing out the final that was won by Kieren, again by a single shot. The performance and behaviour of all of the Loddon Vale juniors was noted as exemplary and a credit both themsevles and the club. Congratulations to them all. |

However, our team is to be congratulated on getting much further in the competition than in previous years. We have shown that we can now compete and should look forward to a further improvement next year. |

| 24 November 2010 | Georgina Heath was the only representative from Loddon Vale on Sunday as Hampshire Ladies took on Surrey in the Atherley Trophy. Georgina played on a rink with three ladies from Victory, and although the rink lost, Georgina received high praise from both teams for her excellent performance. The match was close and nail-biting throughout, with Hampshire losing narrowly by four shots. |

| 16 November 2010 | Our men played Dolphin from Poole in the 3rd round of the National O60's double rink. We had a comprehensive victory with John Merchant's rink winning 21-8 at home and Dougie Morgan's rink winning 26-13 at Poole. They now play East Dorset at a date to be fixed before 3rd December. | 14 November 2010 | Our team resumed their campaign in the strong Wessex League on Sunday playing against Rivermead. Our away rinks came very close to glory with Stuart Logan's rink drawing their game 20-20 and Peter Gentry's rink going down 19-20 on the last end. Our two rinks playing at home were less fortuate with both Ray Harris's and Ian Laming's rinks losing. So we picked up just 1 point from the 15 available. |
13 November 2010 | Our juniors had their 1st round match in the U25's National Double Rink competition against a strong Isle of Wight team. There wss one rink playing at Loddon Vale and one rink away. Our young players played very well and put up a much stronger performance than last year losing by 19 shots overall. Congratulations to Ashley Nethercliffe, James Sallows, Andy Stillings and skip Lewis Jones playing at home and Nicole Rogers, Dominic Flannigan, Georgina Heath and skip Claire Spreadbury playing at Ryde on the Isle of Wight. |
